Dr. Bogdan Anghel, MD

Dr. Bogdan Anghel was born in Bucharest, Romania, where he earned his medical degree from “Carol Davila” University Medical School. He completed his surgical residencies at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York, NY, and the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. His training concluded with a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

With twenty-six years of experience, Dr. Anghel specializes in the management of painful spine and musculoskeletal disorders. He has a particular interest in interventional procedures such as epidural steroid injections, spine and peripheral joint injections, peripheral radiofrequency neurolysis, and spinal cord stimulator trials.

Dr. Anghel is board certified and re-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as in Pain Medicine. He is proficient in Romanian, Spanish, and German.

Currently residing in Show Low, AZ, Dr. Anghel leads an active lifestyle that includes running, hiking, and weightlifting. He is an avid reader of non-fiction and enjoys playing chess.

Dr. Mark Almanza, Chiropractor

My name is Dr. Mark Almanza. I am originally from Moline, Illinois, which is part of the Quad Cities, the Quad Cities is also where Palmer College of Chiropractic the founding franchise of chiropractic. After graduating from Moline High School back in the 80’s, I enlisted in the United States Navy, where I worked in communications for the 7th Fleet based in San Diego, California.

After being honorably discharged from the military, I pursued my undergraduate studies at Black Hawk College and Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois, where I earned credits for my Bachelor’s Degree in Science. Subsequently, I was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where I graduated in 2003.

Since becoming a licensed chiropractor, I have primarily practiced in personal injury in Arizona since 2005. I have worked for Clinica Real, Chiro Plus, and Emergency Chiropractic. Recently, I was recently employed by The Joint Chiropractic, providing services throughout the East Valley, Maricopa, and Tucson.

I believe in the positive benefits of chiropractic care and possess the confidence and experience to effectively communicate the advantages of chiropractic to patients.

Marie Bentz, DNP, FNP-C

Marie Bentz, DNP, FNP-C, started her career fresh out of high school in the year 2000 where she became a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) landing her first job with the Department of Developmental Services in the state of California. From there, she focused her efforts and completed the Licensed Vocational Nursing bridge program followed by her ADN Registered Nurse program from Santa Ana College in 2010. Marie excelled her education by further obtaining her BSN in Public Health from Pacific College in 2016, and her MSN with a specialty in Family Practice from United States University in 2019. She culminated her education receiving a Doctorate – Nurse Practitioner, from Aspen University in 2023.
Marie has over 20 years of experience, throughout her career, she perfected the art of medicine and is now fulfilling her biggest ambition: Providing superior care to society. She is happily married with her beloved husband and child under the strength that only God can supply.

Dr. Michael Kelley, Physician Assistant

Michael Kelley is a retired United States Navy veteran with 22 years of distinguished military service as a Hospital Corpsman and Physician Assistant. During his military career, he completed six overseas combat deployments, gaining extensive experience in emergency medicine, trauma care, and operational healthcare in demanding environments.
While serving in the Navy, Michael earned his Physician Assistant degree and went on to complete master’s-level training in Sports Medicine and Internal Medicine. He further advanced his expertise through fellowships in Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma Surgery at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. His advanced training provided a strong foundation in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and orthopedic conditions.
Following his retirement from military service in 2008, Michael relocated to Phoenix with his wife and four children to continue his medical career serving patients throughout Arizona.
Michael specializes in sports medicine and comprehensive orthopedic evaluation and treatment, with a focus on non-surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions. His clinical expertise includes joint injections, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and image-guided procedures. He is also trained in lumbar epidural, sacroiliac (SI) joint, and caudal injections, utilizing ultrasound guidance to enhance procedural accuracy and patient outcomes.

Valerie P. Jensen , FNP

I will work together with my team in a multidisciplinary approach to address the challenges they face. With a strong background in advanced clinical care and a passion for innovative treatment approaches and experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Developing individualized treatment plans that address the root cause along with education, empowerment, and long-term wellness.

Outside of clinical practice, I enjoy traveling, boating, spending time with family, friends, and her cat Moo Cow.

Dr. Gwendolyn Swan, Senior Consultant

Gwendolyn Swan was born and raised in Baltimore, where she first trained as a radiographer at the University of Maryland (UMUC), and then received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Baltimore (UofB). Gwendolyn moved to Garland, Texas, where she completed an M.Ed. in Counseling at the University of North Texas (UNT). After relocating to Arizona, Gwendolyn completed an Ed.D. in educational psychology at Northern Arizona University (NAU). Gwendolyn lived in Flagstaff for 30 years where she worked as a therapist at the Guidance Center, and as clinical liaison to the DUI/Drug Court, and clinical supervisor at Northern Arizona Substance Abuse Services (NASAS).

Gwendolyn has had experience with individual, group, family and crisis counseling at inpatient, outpatient and residential settings, serving patients living with substance use disorders (SUDs), co-occurring disorders (CODs), and severe mental illness (SMI). Dr. Swan has been licensed as a behavioral health provider (BHP) by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE) for more than 20 years, and currently holds the new license as a Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor (LIAC). She is also trained in MAT and Harm Reduction, and she is certified as a Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTP). Gwendolyn uses an eclectic approach which is trauma informed, and she utilizes the modalities of CBT, DBT, MI, IFS, RP, EMDR and EFT. Dr. Swan encourages patients to be well informed and empowered so they can be equal partners in their own health care experience.
